Secretary General, Kofi Annan, will attend the ceremony to be held August 19 in Geneva to mark the first anniversary of the bombing against the UN headquarters in Baghdad, said Friday the UN Office in Geneva in a statement.

The bombing occurred August 19, 2003 in the capital of Iraq killed 22 people among the UN officials, including former High Commissioner for Human Rights De Mello, and several others wounded .
