Presidential: Japan offers 15 000 transparent ballot boxes in Cameroon
The Japanese government has offered to Cameroonian authorities 15 000 transparent ballot boxes for the presidential election in October, confirmed on Saturday a source of Yaounde.
This gift complements that of Great Britain, which had offered last May 10 000 transparent ballot boxes in Cameroon. The government then said it would use them only if he got enough for the 23 000 polling stations in the country.
Canada is responsible for delivering the 25 000 ballot boxes to Cameroon under the supervision of United Nations Program for Development (UNDP).
The UN had proposed to support the computerization of the electoral process, sought since early June by the opposition by organizing marches.
