China: nearly 80 000 people displaced for ecological reasons in the north
The provincial government of Hebei, northern China, has announced that nearly 80 000 people were displaced by six years due to ecological regions of Zhangjiakou and Chengde, major sources of sandstorms in Beijing and Tianjin.
The 80 000 people currently live in areas where the ecological environment is severely damaged, lacking the basic conditions of life and development.
The provincial government has committed funds for every resident displaced from 5 000 yuan (about 600 dollars), plus a guarantee of land, housing, water and electricity … etc..
As main source of sandstorms in Beijing and Tianjin, Hebei Province has added 1.8 million hectares of desertified land since 1999.

在河北省北部中国省政府日前宣布,近80万人6年,由于生态区的张家口,承德,北京沙尘暴的主要来源和流离失所天津。
80万人目前居住的地区,生态环境受到严重破坏,缺乏生活和发展的基本条件。
省政府已承诺从5 000元人民币(约600美元),加上土地保障,住房,供水和供电流离失所每一个市民的资金…等等。
由于在北京,天津沙尘暴的主要来源,河北省自1999年以来增加了180万公顷沙漠化土地。
