Voter registration in Zanzibar for the general election next year in Tanzania have been planned for September 29 to January 29 next, announced Monday the Zanzibar Electoral Commission.

This announcement comes as the Electoral Commission met with leaders of various political groups in the archipelago in the Indian Ocean that forms part of the United Republic of Tanzania, according to reports reaching Dar es Salaam.

The voter, who will serve under the plan for national electoral standing in Tanzania, will begin in the district of Pemba South September 29, and ends in the district of Unguja Urban West January 29.
