据了解，元山地区子模型奶牛养殖项目是国家标准化管理委员会标准化确定的全国农业标准化项目的第五次审查。项目有19个水产养殖标准。通过项目实施，示范区目前已发展到1000家，示范，示范奶牛6000，日产鲜奶150吨，实现奶牛每增加1500公斤的预期目标，年生产能力。
