Avian flu: Samples from 11 new suspected human cases are analyzed in Nigeria

The Nigerian government announced Friday that tests were conducted on samples taken on 11 new suspected human cases of avian flu in Lagos, as the Punch newspaper published Saturday.

Abdullahi Nasidi, a reply from the Ministry of Health, found that people, on which samples were taken for analysis, had been in contact with a woman of 22 who was confirmed dead from bird flu, the first fatal human cases of the disease in Nigeria.
