Tongli Cement carbon emissions reduction agreement entered into force on
Tongli Cement (000,885, closing price of 4.88 yuan) today announcement that the company owned subsidiary of Zhumadian City, Henan Tongli Cement Co., Ltd 9 Long-megawatt pure low temperature waste heat power generation CDM projects registered in the United Nations CDM Executive Board success. The project is a key project in Henan Province comprehensive utilization of resources, this marks the company successfully registered with the Swedish-owned subsidiary Carbon Asset Management Co., Ltd. signed an agreement to sell greenhouse gas emission reductions in force.
CDM (clean development mechanism) is to come into force in February 2005 the “Kyoto Protocol” in the establishment of mechanisms for international cooperation. It allows developed countries through financial and technical means of greenhouse gas emissions from developing countries to purchase emission reduction effect of the amount of the project, in helping developing countries to develop a recycling economy and achieve sustainable development while also achieving their commitments by emission limit.
Since China is not emission reduction obligations by 2012, so there reduce emissions of countries to China as the most potential for emission reduction market, June 2, 2007, Henan Tongli Cement Group and the Carbon Asset Management Sweden Co., Ltd. in Zhengzhou Clean Development Mechanism projects signed emission reductions purchase agreement. In the next five years, Sweden Carbon Asset Management Ltd. will donate more than 1,000 million U.S. dollars, buying the same strength of cement more than 100 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions. Tongli Cement is expected to obtain an annual transfer of about 300 million in revenue.
Henan Tongli Cement Group invested a total of 6 production lines, capacity of more than 1000 million tons.
